Wilsons Arch, Utah, USA
Utah

Wilson's Arch is a natural sandstone arch in southeastern Utah, USA.  The arch is just 450 feet (137m) off U.S. Highway 191, 24 miles (39km) south of Moab, Utah. The arch has a span of 91 feet (28m) and height of 46 feet (14m).  It is an easy walk for the sure-footed from the road to the arch.  The climb is about 120 feet (37m) and one can stand right in the arch.

Wilson's Arch is non-commercialized and there are no services at the arch.  This also includes fees; there is no charge to hike around and in the arch.  Due to it's proximity to the road, this arch is heavily visited, both by viewers from the parking area as well as visitors walking up to enjoy the thrill of actually standing in the arch.

The arch is named after a local pioneer who lived nearby, Joe Wilson. The arch was formed over time by water seeping into natural cracks in the sandstone and freezing.
