Panorama of the wooden bridge across the river Rhine at Stein, Canton Aargau, Switzerland.
The 203.7 metre long bridge is the longest covered wooden bridge in Europe, connecting the German town Bad Säckingen with Stein in Switzerland. Opened in 1272, the bridge was repeatedly destroyed by flood waters and wars. The largest wooden parts are from the renovation between 1875 and 1903.
