This is the east entrance to the memorial from 17th St.  It offers perhaps the best view of the memorial.  Each walkway has a group of plaques the depict different scenes from the war.  The walkways lead to the expansive plaza and fountain area.  You can look down the mall to the Lincoln Memorial on the west end and to the east the Washington Monument.
