Upper Emerald Pool
Zion National Park

The Upper Emerald Pool is an isolated oasis of crystal clear water surrounded by massive overhanging cliffs on three sides and plenty of trees on the fourth side providing shade on hot summer days. Ocasionally one is able to spot canyoneers rapelling down the boulders surrounding the pool. The upper emerald pool is just one out of (at least) four pools all accessible within a few hours walk from the shuttle bus stop at Zion Lodge or the Grotto.
