After the merger of Kaohsiung City with Kaohsiung County into the Great Kaohsiung City, the agricultural and livestock production of that area rose to one sixth of the city's total output value to about NT$19.3 billion. To further promote the best products of Kaohsiung, the city government plans to build Kaohsiung Products and Commodities Outlets at three different locations--- the Zuoying High Speed Rail Station, the city's main post office, and at a location near the Lotus Pond. By showcasing the city's agricultural products, the city government hopes that young people could better understand the city's culture and appreciate the value of agriculture.
