Alaska Greenhouse
Alaska

Spring in Alaska comes late and by the middle of May, Alaskans are out looking for flowers in their local greenhouses. Traditionally vegetables and flowers are put outside around the 1st of June in the Anchorage area. The very long summer days in June, July and August promote flower growth and Anchorage is rich with flower displays and gardens throughout the city.

This is the Alaska Mill, Feed and Garden Center greenhouse. The business was started in 1950, 9 years before Alaska became a State of the United States.
