arabic cistern. caceres. spain
Extremadura

The Museum of Caceres is disposed in building of the Palace de las Veletas. There is housed also the Arabic cistern -  one of the remains that has survived of the military Almohade citadel. The cistern was restructured in the 15th century and remodeled in the XVII-th and XVIII-th centuries. It is one of the largest of its time and still collects the rainwater that falls in the Renaissance patio that covers it.
