Wye River after the Wye River Jamieson Track Fire
Victoria

Panorama from the beach of Wye River 2 months after the Wye River Jamieson Track fire impacted on the small town on the Great Ocean Road in Victoria. Lightning strikes started 2 bushfires in the Otway Ranges on 19 December 2015 which burned 2,500 hectares until it could be contained on 21 January 2016. Fanned by strong northerly winds the fire impacted heavily on Christmas Day destroying 98 houses in Wye River and 18 in Separation Creek.
