The Romanesque church of San Vicenç d'Enclar, along with the church of Santa Coloma, is one of the oldest in the Principality of Andorra. Both are located in the parish of Andorra la Vella, in the nucleus of Santa Coloma. This early church was part of the fortified ensemble of Enclar, dating back to the Visigothic period. The floor plan of the church of San Vicenç is rectangular, and the apse is square. It has a bell tower attached to the south wall of the nave, with a circular plan, crowned with a floor of windows and a second floor with seven small windows with a horseshoe arch. Its construction likely took place during the 9th century, with its typology corresponding to the common types of Catalan and Languedocian architecture of the 10th century and earlier. It was restored some years ago, thus recovering its original appearance. Discovering it requires a small effort, as it can only be accessed on foot. The discovery and the views are well worth it. Excavations and research carried out in the area have allowed establishing that the San Vicenç d'Enclar ensemble consisted basically of a sector where religious life was concentrated, with the church and burials, a series of small residential nuclei with their services, and finally, the wall with the defense tower.
