Church St. Ulrich
Allgaeu

The church was built in the 12th century and first mentioned 1394. After two extensions, the church received its present size in 1867. It survived the great fire of 1797 unscathed. Originally the church was equipped neo-gothic. In 1907 it was redesigned neo-romanesque during a hugh renovation. After the 2nd Vatican Council in 1965, the church received its present interior. Noteworthy in the choir is the crucifixion group from whittler “Kobel” and representation of Emperor Otto the Great on the right site, who receives from St. Ulrich bishop of Augsburg, in view of the battle of Lechfeld, the Holy Communion. In nave deserve closer attention because of the two bas-reliefs on the front page, the baptismal font, and the two effigies of the saints St. Ulrich and St. Alban.

More About Allgaeu
