The core of Cloncaird Castle was built around 1530 . It was then extended in the early 19th Century . In 1947 it became a convalescent home before returning to private use later in the 20th Century .
Cloncaird Castle sits on the banks of the River Girvan in the heart of a 140 acre estate .
It is now surrounded by several holiday cottages and the castle is also now used as a venue for weddings
It is also a great place for fly and course fishing .
