The settlement on the island Susak has two parts: Donje Selo is the lower part of the village, Gornje Selo is located atop a small hill. The two parts are only connected with two steep stairs and a small pathway at the back of the island. This is one of the stairs leading from Gornje Selo to the harbour.

The island of Cres can be reached from Brestova via the ferry to Porozina. Ferries operate regularly and frequently during the summer season, but there is often a long waiting because of the many tourists visiting the island.
