Curtis Bench, Goblin Valley State Park, Utah, USA
Utah

Take a break from the red goblins in the main part of Goblin Valley State Park to explore the greenish gray slickrock and erosion features of the Curtis Formation.  The green color comes from a form of iron-rich clay deposited here when the area was under a long-lost ocean millions of years ago.  Look across the landscape and follow the green layer in the distance, sandwiched between the lower red Entrada formation and chocolate colored Summerville formation above.
