Lake Cobbler
Victoria
Lake Cobbler (1089m altitude) is around 47km south of Whitfield along Lake Cobbler Rd, which is accessed from the Upper Rose River Rd; 4WD recommended south of Bennies campsite, There are basic campsites next to the lake, with a drop toilet On the way in you’ll see Dandongadale Falls, which have an impressive drop of over 200m.(the highest waterfall in Victoria.) There is a short walking track from the camp to the top of these falls There’s also a challenging walk from Lake Cobbler up to the summit of Mt Cobbler alt:1623m (4hrs return)which starts at the campsite There is a small shelter hut built in 1986 by the Wangaratta 4WD Club. The original hut was built in the early 1900s as part of the Lovick grazing licence, followed by another built by Sam Christopher and Frank Gorman who had the Cobbler grazing licence from 1929 to the 1940s. More About Victoria

Victoria is Australia's second smallest State and covers only 3% of Australia's land area but has the second highest population of all States and Territories. Victoria's mainland and islands have a total length of 2,512 kilometres coastline which is about 4.2% of Australia's 59,736 kilometres of coastline. Australia is the driest inhabited continent and Victoria is no exception although the state capital Melbourne has the reputation to have 4 seasons in one day. Victoria is located in the southeast of mainland Australia and includes the most southern point on mainland Australia at Wilsons Promontory National Park.
