During the years of interment, the residence tried to make the best of it. They constructed many gardens and ponds as a refuge from camp life. Through the collected history of those who experience the camp, volunteers, and archeologist are continuing to bring back the history of the site. Projects at the camp to preserve important cultural resources are the Chicken Farm, Camouflage Net Factory and Merritt Park.
