Saint Wendelin is the patron of shepherds, is considered the protector of peasant pets, especially cattle and sheep. The worship of the farmer's patron reaches back to medieval times in Mömlingen. The Wendelinus chapel built in 1717 on the southern edge of the village obstructed the traffic and was rebuilt in 1978 on the mountainside above the primary school.
