On top of Besalu Bridge
Spain
The Besalú bridge is a Romanesque bridge that is located in Besalú (Girona, Spain) and crosses the Fluviá river. It is cataloged as an Asset of Cultural Interest at the national level. It is an angular-shaped bridge with seven unequal arches, which are located on top of pillars, many of them based on the rocks of the river. On the fifth pillar is the fortified tower, hexagonal in shape with two semicircular arches on the eastern side, with a pointed arch and loopholes at the top on the western side.
