Perm Krai. Annunciation Church in the village of Pokcha.(2)

Pokcha is a village with a centuries-old history, located on the bank of the Kolva River, 5 km north of Cherdyn. The first mention of the settlement in written sources dates back to the second half of the 15th century. In fact, Pokcha is much older. During the campaign of Moscow troops against Great Perm in 1472, Pokcha was burned down during the siege. Voivode Fyodor Pestry ordered the construction of a new fortified town. The capital of the Great Perm Principality was transferred to Pokcha, where Prince Mikhail lived. In 1481, the Voguls, led by Asyka, captured and burned Pokcha, and Prince Mikhail, along with his wife and five children, were killed. According to legend, the next day, at the place of execution, 7 springs broke through the ground and merged into one stream. Pokcha was the capital of Great Perm until 1535...
