Piazza Pagliari, Porto Maurizio, Imperia, Italy
Liguria
The middleage entrance arch of the old Lercari-Pagliari palace's façade dominates the small Piazza Pagliari, almost hidden by other houses and palaces, all dating from centuries. The knight on the square pavement represents St. Maurice, the former town patron saint, here represented as a Templar using white and red sea pebbles, in contrast with the surrounding black pebbles.
