Saint Pierre Grand Bois
Reunion

The neighborhood of Grands-Bois takes its name from the numerous fully-grown trees that formerly trimmed the way borrowed by the carts.  In the past, neighborhood of confidential population, it knew his leap about 1834 at the time of the setting of the sugar factory that regulated rhythmically the life of the neighborhood until its closing in 1991.  Today, the neighborhood is more residential even if the establishment of the ZAC "Cape Austral" allows a new impact in the economy of Grands Bois.  Proof of that mutation: the former factory is now converted in a multimedia library.
