Shrine of Land Deity, Minong Village is believed to be built around 1736, which was designated as a historical site by former Kaohsiung County Government, and underwent repair engineering in 2011. The land deity worshiped by the Hakka ethnic group is much like the earth god for Minnan people. But the shrine design looks quite different from simple primitive version of temples but one has tribunal altar of Fengshui (graves) shape, which is very unique. The tablet centers the altar, on which engraved with daisy decorative pattern. Its left and right wings seen words carved upon the sandstone, along with censers, altar table and level ground before the altar. The major difference between a Minnan grave is a pair of lion sculptures and the steles on which engraved with “Shrine of Land Deity.”
