SVOLVÆR -the capatal of Lofoten, offers the atmosphere of a harbour, a small town and art simultaneously. This is a bustling trading and communications centre with ferry, sea and air connections. The Coastal Steamer (Hurtigruten) has daily departures. In the summer time, trips to the Trollfjord with former fisher boats are being offered.

Svolvær is the regional center with approximately 4.120 inhabitants and are located in VÅGAN municipality that has approximately 8.900 inhabitants and covers a area of 477,5 km2 in the county of LOFOTEN, NORDLAND.
