Trail Gulch Lake is located at the bottom of a series of cliffs below Deadman Peak near Carter Meadows Summit west of Callahan, California.  It is a picturesque location however the low sun of November makes only half the lake submerged in light.  Being cold, there is small ice beginning to form further out - the morning calm makes it have a nice mirroring effect. There is a small island to the lake.
