Trinity Temple , Carinish , North Uist
Scotland

Trinity Temple (Teampull na Trionad) can be found at Carinish , North Uist . This is all that remains of the 13th Century church .

The path to the temple begins with a crossing of the Feith na Fala (Ditch of Blood) where the battle of Carinish is said to have been fought .

The temple is thought to have been founded by Beathag , the daughter of the warrior Somerled .

It was rebuilt in the latter half of the 13th century , enlarged in the 16th century then restored in the 19th century after it was destroyed as part of the reformation .
