Vernazza is one of the five towns of the Cinque Terre. These villages were colonized by fishermen almost 1000 years ago. For a long time these towns could be only reached by train or boat and even today it is best to use the train as parking spaces are rare if at all available.

Vernazza was struck by heavy rain fall and floods in October 2011 and even on this panorama you can still see the damage to the buildings.
