Simi (or Symi) is one of the Dodecanese island in the south of the Aegean sea 1.5 hours by boat from Rhodes(well known vacation Island) of Greece. It is one of the most traditional Island of the comlex with a lot of atractions. One of the most visited is the The Monastery of the Archangel Michael Panormitis(Greek orthodox monastery). The island has more or less 2,500 inhabitants but in the early days it had more than 20.000 as it was one of the bigest natural port in the area and the closest to Egypt.
