The Arcade was the center of Braga, with its classic coffees, under the arcades, where the latest news, the equivalent of today's Internet. It was the common stop of almost all public transport from the finals of the 19th century. Despite the growth of Braga, the arcade continues to maintain its prestige. The building was pulped by Engº Joaquim Pereira da Cruz, and the works started in 1876. On the ground floor has two cafes, astonia and Viana, and are the oldest cafes in the city. To the center the Church of Nª Srª da Lapa, in Sober Neo-classic style. Despite the curvilineo roof shot and use of the cover pinacles remember the Rocaille, the facade no longer uses the curved lines and the decoration with maritime elements (waves, rocks etc) that are part of the Rocaille language. The interior is reduced, by the depth of the building, behind is the tower of the former wall.
