Congida is a river beach located on the outskirts of Freixo de Espada à Cinta, very popular with Portuguese and Spanish people during the warmer months. Surrounded by the Douro International and escorted by an agricultural landscape, where orange groves abound.
It is from the river pier of Congida that boat trips depart that take the visitor to the imaginary of the international Douro watercourse. The fauna and flora are omnipresent company. The Heron, the Royal Duck, Vultures or the Black Stork (which nests against the banks of the Douro), are some of the species that can be seen.
