On top of the terminal Moraine Standing on this pile of loose rock left behind by the glacier gives a rather different viewpoint to the glacier. Looking down towards the base, yet still with the flatter area hundreds of feet above, there is a lot of ice left in this glacier. About 30 metres of snow falls at the top of the glacier each year, compressing down and preserving the glacier.
