Ivo Andrić mouseum entry

On the day when half a century ago won the Nobel Prize for literature, Ivo Andric got a new museum. The permanent exhibition in his honor was placed in the apartment of 144 hotel  sokobanja "Moravica", which is owned by the Administration for Execution of Criminal Sanctions of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Serbia. Most responsible for this project is, Zoran Vucicevic, a spokesman for the Board.

The apartment is renovated to provide visitors an insight into the period spent in Sokobanja Andric, resting and looking for inspiration. In addition to the apartment where he stayed Andric, the complex includes a refreshed Andric's statue in front of the hotel and the flag with his image. Within the apartment there are authentic artifacts from the time when he stayed Andric, from museum archives and bring some items from the writer's legacy, like his famous glasses and cutters to open the mail, pens, ink Andric page doctoral dissertation, pages parish register of births office Travnik from the 1892nd said Vucicevic. Fleeing from the occupiers, in Ivo Andric, 1942nd was often spent in Sokobanja. The villagers were hiding and helped him, and he continued in this place to come and after the war. For these reasons, the Administration for execution of criminal sanctions is still a year and a half ago decided to apartment 144 in "Moravica" shut down for regular use, adapt it to the memorial room of Ivo Andric and it put a permanent exhibition, says Zoran Vucicevic.

Zoran Vučićević says is very proud of this project that led to the capacity of the organizer. "It would be impossible to do this job without the cooperation and support of the Belgrade City Museum, which has given way to the museum all the necessary material. Together we managed to gather a team of top experts who conducted the initial idea into action. It is primarily by ideological conception of the permanent exhibition Tatjana Korićanac, curator of the Museum of the City of Belgrade, while the architectural design of the architect has done the settings. Bojana Dragan Djurovic and design Lacmanović "said Vucicevic. She points out that it is extremely important that the hotel "Moravica" staying mostly school children who will visit the apartment, enrich their knowledge of Ivo Andric, which is currently the only holder of the Nobel prizes in the region.
