Dragon boat race has been an important traditional cultural event in the East. In the recent years, because of its exciting nature and emphasis and practice on team collaboration, it has attracted global interest and become an internationally-recognized competition. The Kaohsiung International Dragon Boat Race has always been a popular event that attracts tens of thousands of visitors. Teams from sister cities in the Netherlands, the U.S., Japan etc. also participate in the competitions. During the races, various cultural events and performances, as well as food and drink booths can also be found along the bank of the Love River.
