Kuopio Cathedral (Finnish: Kuopion tuomiokirkko) is the main church of Kuopio diocese built in the early 1800s, just after Finnish War. The retable is called Kristus ristillä (Engl. Christ on a cross), painted by Berndt Abraham Godenhjelm.
Kuopio is a Finnish city and municipality located in the province of Eastern Finland and the region of Northern Savonia. A population of 91,989 (2007) makes it the ninth biggest city in the country.
