Panorama of flood plains along Lock 9 Road between Renmark and Wentworth, Australia. Rural development along the Murray River started in 1880s but it was only after a searing drought in 1902 that efforts to lock the Murray river for navigation and irrigation were increased. The unsealed Lock 9 Road leads to the 9th lock at Cullulleraine on the Murray River.

Victoria is located in the southeast of mainland Australia and includes the most southern point on mainland Australia at Wilsons Promontory National Park.
