The valley of Lo (Lodalen) at the Indre Nordford in Sogn og Fjordane, Norway has a dramatic history. Huge boulders have twice (1905 and 1936) broken off Mount Ramnefjell and fallen into the Lovatnet lake, creating tidal waves that destroyed the villages of Nesdal and Bødal killing 135 people. A pilgrim path marks today the place of this tragedy. The ship called „Lodal“ was carried around by the tidal wave; she fell down in the forest hundreds of meters away. The wreck is still to be seen at the same place it landed years away.
