Monumen Perjuangan Rakyat Jawa Barat (The West Java People's Resistance Monument). Situated in the north of Gedung Sate, Bandung. Built in 1991 and completed in 1996. Designed by Slamet Wirasonjaya (architect) and and Sunaryo (sculpture artist).This Monumen took the form of beheaded (stakes) bamboo, symbolizing people's resistance against the invaders. Bamboo as a true grass plant was also chosen to illustrate the Sundanese culture plurality.
