The "Museum Beetles" consists of three collections that were purchased and integrated by the Museum of the Sea in a single collection. The collection belonged to Prof. Luis Barattini, the doctor and ambassador in Paris Dr. Abelardo Saenz and entomologist Mr. Dante Wuidermann autididacta Rovera. The museum is located opposite the Maritime Museum in Barra de Maldonado, Maldonado, Uruguay. Today Barra de Maldonado is practically part of Punta del Este. The Director of the Museo del Mar is Mr. Pablo Etchegaray.
