Established fifty years ago, Siaolin Elementary School is located 352 meters above sea level. Its location and infrequent contact with the outside world have made the students maintain a simpler way of life. This has also enabled the Taiwanese Plains Aborigines to preserve their ceremonies and festivals, providing a valuable cultural resource for the people of Taiwan. Some of the school’s facilities have the marks of Taiwanese Plains Aborigines culture, such as a ceramic totem, an art exhibition wall, and a tower. These facilities were built in order to pass down the traditions of the Taiwanese Plains Aborigines.
