Richmond Bridge 1
Tasmania

The Richmond bridge is the oldest bridge still in use in Australia. It spans the Coal River and is located 11.6 miles NNE (heading 28.45 degrees) from Hobart, Tasmania. It is built of locally quarried sandstone and now supports Highway C351, also known as the "Convict Trail".  The bridge was completed after 17 months of construction in 1825 using convict labor and in 2005, the site was added to the Australian National Heritage List.
