Built in the 14th century by Fernán Pérez de Andrade, and also known as the Nogueirosa fortress, parish of the council of Pontedeume in which it is located, it is a small castle, but it watches over one of the access to the mouth of the river Eume, as well as the town of the Andrade (Pontedeume) and even others further away such as Ferrol, of which they were also lords.
