Vyšný Volochek
Russia

West Volochek has extensive <Vyshnevolotskoe Reservoir. This is the oldest reservoir in Russia (not counting the pond Alapaevsk Plant in the Urals), and originally it was called the factory (from plants Serdyukov, stood on the shore). It has created more Serdyukov, originally an area of only 9 km2. However, this reservoir was the most important part of the project Serdyukov, as it maintained a constant level of water in Tsne and Tveretskom channel, allowing the courts to pass Vyshnevolotsky waterway in mezhen. When Osip Ivanovich Koritskom Reservoir was expanded to 68 km2 (then was poured earthen dam near the Moscow-Petersburg Road, Route defended against flooding), and the last of its reconstruction was carried out in the 1930's, when the reservoir reached the 109 km2 area, becoming a huge reservoir of fresh water. Then, a few kilometers south of Volochek was dug Novo Tveretsky channel length of 5 kilometers, in which water Tsny and Msty supplied in Tvertsu, and thence through the channel of the Volga and Moscow, the capital, providing 8% of water consumed in Moscow.
