This is a memorial for the Czech and Slovak soldiers who trained here between 1941 and 1943 .

They trained as SOE agents (Special Operations Executive) who parachuted behind enemy lines during WWII and sustained heavy casualties .

The memorial was unveiled at 11am on the 11th November 2009 by the Rt Hon. George Reid  and was attended by a large delegation from the Czech Republic .
