The Baviaanskloof is in one of he more inaccessible areas of South Africa lying between two mountainridges. There are only two ways to get into the valley - the one is from the side of Willowmore and the other is through the mountains with a 4x4. Once you are in the valley, prepare yourself for the experience of your life. The people are wonderful, the valley is full of interesting spots, and the food is excellent and the setting is idyllic.

This is a panorama takan of the yard of the homestead of Zandvlakte where I had the priviledge to spend three days. Three days was however not enough an I am definitely planning on doing another trip to the valley.

The yard is surrounded by to the south the homestead, to the North the "Badshuis" and to the North-East the "Zandvlakte Huis". The Badshuis translated to English is the "Bath House". In the old days, this used to be used as a communal bathing house. Zandvlakte Huis is the old farmhouse.
