The Chihuahuan Desert lies to the east of the Sonoran Desert. Just as the Sonoran is characterized by saguaro cactus, the Chihuahuan Desert's iconic plant is lechuguilla (Agave lechuguilla), a close relative of the spiky agaves seen in this panorama.
