Christmas Tree at Lagoa 2008
Rio de Janeiro
The Christmas’s Tree at Lagoa in Rio De Janeiro, already is a postal card of the Brazilian Christmas. It not only is in a beautiful place of the Wonderful City, as also is registered in the Guinness Book as the biggest tree of floating Christmas of the world. The tree has 85 meters height, the equivalent to a building of 28 floors. The weight is of more than 500 tons. 2,8 million micron-light bulbs are used, and the 37 thousand meters of luminous hoses, that project the vitrais would be enough to more than give practically five returns at Lagoa. Ballet of waters light has daily presentation of colors and movement water, with spurts that can reach up to 20 meters of height. The estimate of the City hall of Rio de Janeiro is that at least 90 thousand people visit the Tree at Lagoa, every year. The Christmas symbol is recognized as the third bigger event of Rio De Janeiro, losing only for the Reveillón and the Carnival.
