Cobra Lily patch [2]
California

Located near Kangaroo Lake, California is a small spring that houses a patch of cobra lilies (Darlingtonia californica).  Other areas in close proximity house these pitcher plants.  They are carnivorous insect-eating plants native to the Klamath Mountains region of Northern California & Southern Oregon.  A favorite among local botanists, these plants need soil rich in red peridotite with a constant source of water from a spring or ground seep.
