The new Isala Hospital building located in Zwolle was designed from both a highly dedicated medical-technical and health stimulating human perspective. The 108.000 square metres are spatially divided into 4 buildings called butterflies, due to their plan shape, with lush Atrium gardens. The Isala hospital was designed by the collaborating a/d amstel and Alberts & Van Huut architects offices (AMI Associated Dutch Healthcare Architects) and their design team partners.

The entrance hall is not just a representative entrance to the hospital but gives space on different connected levels to all kinds of public use. The first floor is for public venues, a small restaurant and a place to wait, and more.
