在长春市中心雄伟壮丽的人民广场东北角坐落着一座美丽的寺院，这就是长春般若寺。这座寺庙始建于1922年，1934年命名为“护国般若寺”。该寺占地七千二百平米，是长春市最大的佛教寺庙。
寺院的山门为并列的三座拱门组成，门楼檐角飞翘，错落有致，建工精巧，门侧红墙写有“南无阿弥陀佛”六个大字，寺内殿堂耸立，树木成荫，蔚为壮观。进门左右有鼓楼和钟楼，正面为天王殿，殿内正中供奉弥勒佛像，两侧有四大天王脚踏八怪塑像，栩栩如生。殿后塑有护法韦驮菩萨立像。
