One of the most interesting castles in the border of Beira, primarily because of its geometry, but also because the settlement has remained until today. D. Manuel granted several privileges, to minimize the desertification of the village. The most important reforms were at the end of King Manuel's reign, in the 1520s, converting this castle into a fortified Renaissance structure. Its somewhat rationalistic shape, forming a square in whose diagonal the keep and the second tower are aligned, and its wall is defended in its angles by 3 round turrets reducing the vulnerable angles of the wall. From the predecessor castle of Leonesa origin, it is only known that it would be in the center of the village, next to the Misericordia church, and was partially demolished.
