The watchtower, built in 1492, is located on the 216 m high Binselberg and is with its bricked pointed cone helmet, the cast core and the loopholes a landmark for the entire region. The tower is 22 m high. In 1992 it was restored and made accessible again. In 2008 the municipality of Schaafheim fundamentally redesigned the area around the tower.

The “Free State of Bavaria” is renowned for being culturally unique and for the emphasis which it places on preserving its heritage and traditions.
