In the year 1683, during the Great Turkish War, the fortified parish church St. Othmar was the last shelter for the frigthened civil population of Mödling, which was killed here. The legend says that the marks on the portal were beaten by the swords of the berserk Tartar warriors, who searched for the citizens.
